I am this many

I’ve got the most exciting news ever! Maybe not ever. Absolutely not ever. Surely something like getting a kitten or learning you don’t have {insert horrible disease here} is more exciting news than my news.

I’ve got exciting news! Though, I suppose some people won’t find it exciting at all. They only find things like getting a kitten to be exciting. Some might find it confusing. People sometimes say “I’m confused” to me because of things I find exciting, so it seems a logical possibility in this instance.

I’ve got news! Today by the common cook turns five. Only today if you are reading it on October 18. If you aren’t, then it was yesterday, or six days ago, or two months ago, or…you probably get it by now.

Anniversary posts rarely display my most stellar writing. Here’s one, two, three, and four for comparison. The foods are kind of whatever as well. That apple french toast was really good though. It’s been a long time since I made any french toast..oooh I’m making french toast for dinner this week.

There’s a lot of pressure behind celebrating anniversaries. For instance, this month celebrated two years with my dog. I remembered because it was cold the day I got him and flippin’ hot the day of his anniversary. Scareghetti turned four. I much prefer celebrating the every day and only feel obligated to celebrate the anniversaries. I will not celebrate well and you can’t make me!

Five seems like such a big number. Like the post should be OVER THE TOP BIG! Rather than, I just want to get this post over with so I can tell you about the really good foods I made and the stories I’ve been writing.

You know what, let’s get on with the rest of the news so we can end this post. The blog is being turned into a book! By me! I signed up for a class at the community college on digital publishing and we have to publish our very own book!

I have trouble staying out of school. As a friend said, “kids every where are dropping out of school, and you can’t stay out.” School has led to a lot of really fun assignments, new skills, and new passions. You can see some of them over on my portfolio. (Oh, yeah, I’m also starting to take on freelance writing work…again.) A creative writing class is even partially responsible for this blog’s beginnings. School’s also led to some scary assignments. Like publishing a book. Telling about it here turns it into a scareghetti movie. Which is why I’m telling you about the book.

The news would be way cooler if there was demand for the book. Maybe there is a really silent fan club that’s been clamoring for a book. Maybe believing hard enough will make that true. Anyway, I’ll let you all know when the book is ready to be downloaded (i.e. at the end of the semester). Think of it as a really cool anniversary present I am giving all of you.

That’s kind of exciting news.
